The Michelin Guide - Entry

'Enthusiastically run inn set by a sheltered harbour in a secluded village. Menu offers plenty of seafood in summer and game in the winter, with a good choice of daily specials.'
The AA - Where to Eat in Scotland - Entry

'This 'house in the pass', as it translates, was converted from an old bus garage in 1976 and stands by a natural harbour at the head of Loch Sween with stunning views over the anchorage, especially from the picnic tables that front the inn in summer. The cosy bar with its yachting theme and the more formal dining-room feature original works by local artists and large picture windows from which to gaze out over the village and Tayvallich Bay. Those interested in the works of 19th-century engineer Thomas Telford will find plenty of bridges and piers in the area. Expect a lot of seafood, including Loch Etive mussels steamed in white wine, garlic and cream; seared scallops on pea purée and black pudding; and the Tayvallich Seafood Platter. Other options could include prime Scottish rib-eye with onion rings and tomatoes; and beer-battered haddock and chips.'
Taste of Scotland - Entry

'The Tayvallich Inn overlooks Loch Sween, a popular spot for locals and visiting yachts. Fresh supplies of prawns and scallops can be relied upon, although a hearty steak can also be enjoyed and home-made burgers are a speciality. The restaurant has no frills and offers relaxed service of freshly prepared dishes.'
The Seafood Trail - Entry
'The Tayvallich Inn is a small pub and restaurant in the village of Tayvallich, which is on the banks of Loch Sween, in a natural well-protected harbour, which provides stunning scenery.
The Inn has a licensed bar, restaurant and outside decking area where meals can be enjoyed when the sun is out. Specialising in seasonal fresh seafood and local produce, the menu is based on ensuring the freshest of ingredients are served cooked to perfection, with a wholesome and healthy balance. The Inn has a good selection of wines, beers and spirits including local real ales from Fyne Ales and a large selection of single malts from around the area.'
